Wealth Tax Spain · 60% Rule
Spain has a rule that the total income tax and wealth tax that a taxpayer must pay must not exceed 60% of the taxable income.
The only limitation is that the wealth tax to be paid may not be less than the 20% of the wealth tax actually due.
In other words, if a taxpayer does not have an income but does have such a high wealth for which he has to pay ten thousand euros in wealth tax, then the real estate tax to be paid will be 2,000 euros (20% of ten thousand euros).
For taxpayers with high capital this can mean a significant reduction in wealth tax.
