Mortgage deduction Spain

Own house

The interest on mortgages from later than 2013 are not deductible anymore in Spain.

There are transitional arrangements for mortgages that are concluded before 2013. If they meet the conditions for 2013, the deduction will then be 15% over a maximum of 9,015 in interest and repayment. This results in a maximum tax reduction of 1,352.15 euros. It is expected that this deduction also will dissapear.

2nd home

Mortgages located on homes that are not the first home – such as holiday homes, weekend houses – are not deductible.

Rental

If residential properties are let, the mortgage payments can be deducted from the rental income. There may not be a negative end result.
